Giver Blessing 10: Wisdom

white space

Beloved, I call your spirit to attention, and I invite the Giver portion to come explore how God has designed you to enrich the world in your unique way.

It was probably a Giver who gave us the phrase “The gift that keeps on giving.” It is one of the core drives of the Giver to provide gifts that have great value. It is not enough that the recipient of the gift enjoy it. The Giver desires to enrich someone’s life, not just to bring pleasure.

Since God built that desire into the Giver tribe, He frequently positions you to give the world the gift of wisdom, which truly is a gift that keeps on giving.

One of the most spectacular illustrations of this is the Written Word. While Gentiles have recognized the power of the One True God and have served Him for millennia, God waited until there were Israelites before He began recording Scripture.

Centuries of human history had gone by already when Moses began to pen the story of the beginning. It mattered not to God. Rather than use a non-Israelite to record the story, He just saved it effortlessly, and dictated to Moses what He wanted the world to know.

There is no source of wisdom that compares to the Word of God and that gift to mankind was not compiled by a representative cross section of the human race. It was given to us by a Giver nation, because God honors the Giver’s desire to give the world wisdom, the gift that keeps on giving.

In addition to the wisdom captured in the written Word of God, Israel gave the world an even greater gift of wisdom which is the Incarnate Word of God. Jesus the Christ is the Savior of the entire world, but again, He is not cosmopolitan. He is a son of Israel, born into the kingly line of David, sent to grace the entire world with the wisdom of heaven, but He was given to the world by a Giver nation.

The Giver tribe of Jews continues to give the gift of wisdom today as demonstrated by their disproportionate representation in the Nobel Prizes of the last century. While Jews are one quarter of one percent of the population of the world, they have won 23% of the Nobel Prizes in the last 107 years.

The Nobel Prize is given for wisdom that is of a breakthrough nature. Each of these individual prizes represents a new understanding that will lay the foundation for a whole cascade of additional insights into things that matter to modern man. This is truly the stuff of Givers - gifts of wisdom that keep on giving.

Turn to the Far East now and consider the Giver nation of Japan. Again we see a stunning disproportion between size and wisdom. Japan has approximately 1.9% of the world’s population. Yet their impact in the world of science is massively greater than their population.

Take this test. Imagine eliminating from your life every product that had its origin in Japanese technology. In addition to the major product lines that we recognize from Japan such as Sony, Toshiba, Toyota, Nikon, Minolta or Kawasaki, there are myriad American products in your home using Japanese technology. Eliminating from your home all wisdom that originated in Japan would send you back to a log cabin with oil lamps.

Going a step beyond that, the Japanese produce high quality CNC machines that manufacture many of the products we use. While you may never have heard of Takisawa, Yuasa Warwick or Mori Seiki, they probably manufactured machines that made products you have used.

The Giver nation of Japan has touched billions of people with their gifts of wisdom.

The Giver’s anointing to give the gift of wisdom is so massive that even Giver land impacts the people on it, regardless of their racial background. Out of the Giver region we know as the Silicone Valley has come another river of inventions, wisdom in the realm of science that the world uses relentlessly.

This is God’s design.

And it is good.

So we welcome you in our midst, Giver. Your tribe has not come close to exhausting the treasures of wisdom that are embedded in your nature. We delight to have you in our midst, and we pray that our problems will be the fertile field for your inventiveness to give us the gift that keeps on giving - wisdom from on high! You are most welcome among us. We bless you in the name of our King, Jesus Christ.
