How do I become a member of the SLG Tribe?
It is up to God.
The Tribe is every person whom God has called to walk with us for a season and who responded.
We have people who hang with us, whom God did not send. They belong somewhere else. They are none of my business.
And there are those God sent, who didn’t come. That is also none of my business.
We make no effort to track who is “in” the Tribe or not. That is God’s business.
My business is to shepherd those He sends us for as long as they are supposed to be here.
Simple.
BACK TO TOPWhy do you say your relationships are temporary?
SLG is a resource center -- like a gas station or restaurant or hardware store. It is not a full-service life community, like a family is.
You are sent here to receive something God has for you here, so you can go back to your Kingdom assignment and do it bigger, better and more efficiently.
We don’t have everything you need for your journey. God sent you here because we happen to have what you need right now. (If you need gas for your tank, He doesn’t send you to McDonald’s.)
Once you have received what you need for this season, He will move you on to the next resource center, to receive something we can’t give you.
So whether your journey with us is five days or five decades, we assume from the outset that we do not have everything that is needed for you to come to maturity and possess your birthright.
The Body of Christ right now has the highest diversity of expressions ever in human history. There is an amazing abundance of spiritual wealth being expressed by the multitude of different streams of the faith. It is absurd to hunker down in one small space, in times like these.
We expect people to come, to receive, to grow and to move on to the next place where God has assigned them.
How hard is that?
BACK TO TOPHow do I get personal ministry from SLG?
This is not a service we offer.
We began with a primary focus on deliverance and inner healing, a quarter of a century ago. Then we transitioned to research because it seemed to fill the biggest niche in the Body of Christ.
We design our tools around a DIY model, out of the pragmatic awareness that most people won’t have access to practitioners who have the skill they need and whom they can afford.
We are sometimes able to do some diagnostic work by email and suggest some tools and strategies that will get you started.
You can write us at Friends@TheSLG.com.
BACK TO TOPWhere is the list of people Arthur has trained to do ministry?
There is no such group of people.
There are many practitioners who have added some of SLG’s tools to their own tool kit, but there is no one whom we have trained and endorsed.
BACK TO TOPWhat is your statement of faith?
We have none. We are a business, not a ministry. We mine the truths in the Holy Bible.
Our conviction is that doctrine is a fence to keep people safe, but that growth comes through applications of principles.
We have no patience for the religious wars over doctrine that have drained a vast amount of time and life from the Body of Christ in the last 2,000 years.
Having an “orthodox” statement of faith does nothing to ensure that someone is walking in integrity in their lives. And the undeniable reality is that the grace of God flows to a lot of believers who embrace widely different doctrinal views.
We follow the trail of grace, not orthodoxy.
That said, there is not the slightest flexibility on our part about Jesus Christ being the Son of God, who was crucified and raised the third day to reconcile us to the Father. He is the Bridegroom and King and we serve Him.
BACK TO TOPWhat church are you affiliated with?
None.
We engage with a very wide diversity of streams of the faith, but are endorsed by none.
We are deeply committed to the Kingdom of God. We serve the King of Kings and seek to expand the hegemony of His kingdom, through a broad cross section of expressions of the Faith.
BACK TO TOPWhat are Arthur’s credentials?
I was the black sheep of the family before the age of two and it went downhill from there.
God sought me out and is still in the process of rebuilding me. I am the object of His love and grace and that is my only significant credential of any sort.
On the academic level, I received a high school diploma – graduating in the bottom third of the class – and a perfectly useless BA in liberal studies from a secular university.
I am a businessman and a builder of lives, with lots of failures and some successes in both fields.
BACK TO TOPHow do I find members of the Tribe in my area?
We don’t have any process for matchmaking. We have tried a number of things in the past that turned out poorly and have since decided that is not our gifting.
BACK TO TOPWhen will you do a live event in my area?
We currently are not planning any live events.
BACK TO TOPDo you have a newsletter?
Yes.
Go to the home page of our website and select “Subscriptions” from the menu in the sidebar.
Our newsletter is quite erratic. When I have nothing to say, I don’t say it.
BACK TO TOPWhat social media platforms do you use?
YouTube – sparingly. https://www.youtube.com/user/SapphireLeadership
MeWe regularly. https://mewe.com/p/sapphireleadershipgroupllc
