In the 1960s, people wore black armbands and drove with their headlights on every Tuesday to protest the Vietnam War.

It didn’t end the war.

Students had sit-ins at the university president’s office.

It didn’t change higher education.

More recently, Occupy Wall Street generated a lot of trash and press coverage.

They didn’t change Wall Street.

Currently our culture is being violently polarized.

Should we disarm the citizenry or arm the teachers?

Should we embrace the evils of socialism to escape the evils of capitalism?

How can we keep Miami and El Paso from becoming uninhabitable due to global warming?

And more to the point, why is the church no longer a voice in the public square?

Are we relegated to hugging prophetic words and praying for revival, or are there actual strategies that a Noble Subject can embrace that will make measurable, verifiable, sustained change in the culture?

We will be discussing the following topics:

  • The difference between spiritual and moral authority.
  • Competing economic models
  • Climate change
  • Violence
  • Racism

And, of course, in the Q & A, we will probably range much farther than that.
