Arthur will begin the evening with some thoughts about the recent election then explore the transition from the first step in establishing the Government of God to the second step. This continues to draw from the foundational passage in Isaiah 40.
During our community time, we will explore the dynamic of something being conceived by the power of God, then dying rapidly. Many of you have experienced having a divine encounter. You and another person meet, connect, and God is present. The life of God intersects powerfully with your spirit and a new idea is conceived. You anticipate significant life from that.
Somehow, in the week to ten days after that encounter, the whole thing just vanishes away. All of the excitement and life and vision and vitality just fades into oblivion. And for some people, this happens hundreds of times in their life.
Finally, in our warfare, we will focus on the inability of some people to connect with God in an emotional way. You know all the truths, and you can see the power of God in your life externally, but there is not a relational connection. The Shadow of Death is mentioned 19 times directly, and is illustrated many other times.
We will teach and war against this with Holy Communion.
