When I was a young pup, just starting out as senior pastor of a small church, an older man warned me about marriage counseling. He said, “It is like the Pentagon. Every story has five sides.”
The same is true for our own lives.
If you get laid off, there is a story that emerges from the perspective of your own life. Another story from your spouse. Another from your kids. Another from your parents. Another from your in-laws. Another from your community of faith. Another from your banker.
Oh yes, there is actually another perspective and that is the perspective of the Kingdom. What is in it for God in this situation?
