We are born powerless. We learn many aspects of social power. Spiritual power has to be learned the same way. Here are tools for charting a good training program.
42. Fathering: Shame
The single greatest source of shame is fathers. God designed fathers to be the greatest source of dignity. If your followers are hampered by shame, they will not be able to be creative in risky areas.

In this season, God is giving us a harvest for seed sown that has lain dormant for a long time. Learn how to factor your past investments into your strategies for this season.

Intimacy is a kiss under the moonlight for honeymooners. But what is intimacy with God in daily life? And what does it look like for the task oriented Ruler who isn’t really into the usual warm fuzzies?

God usually brings our external world into alignment when our internal world is repaired. The question is, which facet of your internal world needs attention first.

Our key resources are God and community. In this clip, we will explore the spirit of wealth, as distinct from using wealthy friends as an ATM.
34. Harvest: Location
Where are YOU going to harvest? There is a harvest in spirit, soul or body. A harvest in the natural or spiritual realm. A harvest in your family or work or community. Which is right for you?

Intimacy means the walls come down between two people. Too often in physical intimacy that results in one person taking. How can we mutually give in a Mercy Season way to enrich community?
32. Alignment: Difference
Alignment is quite different from unity, like the Mercy Season is different from the Ruler Season. This is a discussion of the difference so you can recognize it when you see it.

Power and authority are different words in the Greek. We are commanded to walk in power, but the church has broadly only taught authority in the last two decades. Here is an introduction to the concept of power.
30. Transformation: Asymmetrical
In the Mercy season, God is doing more with fewer people. Gone are the days of stadiums full of people. How do we partner with God through intentionally using as few people as possible for any project?
29. Elders: Seasons
Elders deal with transcendent issues in the culture. And there is nothing more transcendent than time. It is the most universal issue people have to deal with. That said, an ability to recognize seasons and facilitate transition between seasons is part of the role of the elder.
28. Fathering: Tribes
Identity starts in a very individual way. But then you should become part of a wide number of tribes. This episode describes how a father develops a healthy sense of tribal identity in those who are following him.
27. Kingdom: Hegemony
Hegemony is the term used to describe the influence a nation has in the community of nations. The US and Nepal each have one vote in the United Nations, but the US has a greater hegemony there. This episode explores the role of hegemony on an individual level in the Kingdom.
26. Hybrid Business: Curses
Your old clunker does just fine from the house to the hardware store at 25 mph. But you wouldn’t think of loading it up with the family and gear, and going over the mountain on vacation. The pressure would reveal all the existing weak spots. In the same way, a hybrid business will reveal unfinished business in your personal life.
25. Design: The Walmart Syndrome
Paul said he wanted to be all things to all men. This has become one of the most destructive verses in modern Christianity. We need to put it back into the redemptive gift context of the day, to see its application.
24. Transformation: Language
Think of what it was like when you figured out your redemptive gift. You were what you were from conception on, but when you had language for who you are, it made a difference in how you went forward. One powerful kind of transformation comes through giving language for what already exists.
23. Elders: Finding Resources
So often, those who want to lead us begin by asking us for our money, so they can help us! Think elections! However, the second step in establishing the Government of God involves building where there are no resources. Here is the key to doing that.
22. Fathering: Discerning when to Believe
When you build a platform under a slave, they will usually exploit you and use those resources to further entrench themselves in a spirit of slavery. When you believe in someone with a spirit of sonship, they usually become better people as a result.
21. Kingdom: Intimacy
Historically, Christians have battled intellectualism among pre-Christians with an impressive array of logical arguments. It certainly does work some of the time, and some famous people have been converted by logic. However, intimacy is a superior tool for dealing with this spiritual structure.
20. Hybrid Businesses: Employees
Should you have employees in your business or subcontract out everything you don’t do? There is not a right answer to that. But there are principles you should consider for your business as you make that decision.
19. Design: Styles of learning
You are created by God to be a visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner. Your design serves as a filter for how you learn, but more importantly WHAT you learn. You will filter Scripture through your learning style. This can be a disadvantage, or a huge advantage. Learn to leverage it.
18. Transformation: Values
Working in the inner city, or with addicts, or codependent people rapidly reveals the importance of values. You can change all the external structures and fill their heads with new ideas, but their values will define their actions. We must learn to change values.
17. Elders: Moral Authority
What is the difference between moral authority and spiritual authority? More to the point, how do people know that you have moral authority when there is a conflict? Which is more important to develop?
16. Fathering: Rewards
I just spanked someone on the blog – in Christian love, of course. She had written a mothering comment in a place which begged for a fathering comment instead. Our culture does not know how to reward fathering with affirmation. Here are some tips.
15. Kingdom: Dominion
The word domination has such a lot of hurtful baggage attached to it, yet we were called to walk in dominion. This episode looks at how to walk in dominion according to your design and your journey. Each person’s expression of dominion is going to be different but all should walk in dominion.
14. Hybrid: Scalable Products
Labor – being an employee – is absolutely not scalable. In order for a hybrid business to be able to do Kingdom work, there must be a scalable product, and every venture needs to be seen through the grid of scalability so that the blend of scalable and non-scalable products is sustainable.
13. Design: Treasure in Wounds
Almost everyone we have available to us is wounded and imperfect. If we let their wounds define them, we will never build. Their reaction to what happened to them is a marker for their design. This episode will work through a number of real situations, to show how we can discover design in the offenses a person has, and build an effective team of people who are still a bit rough in their own journey.
12. Transformation: Three Targets
Change comes in a sequence: values, actions, structures. This episode looks at how Jesus was nimble in changing His transformation target from day to day and person to person.
11. Elders: Perspective
A father tends to see the details of how a project comes together. An elder tends to see how a project will fit in the larger context of the culture. Elijah was a father. Samuel was an elder. This episode is about how to identify the elders in different sectors of your culture, so you can avail yourself of their wisdom.
10. Fathering: Three Styles of Fathering
You father your children one way. You father your employees another way. You father your volunteers a third way. You need all three fathering styles, and need to know how to segue from one to the other with a nimble fluidity.
09. Kingdom: Leveraging Assets
Normally that means borrowing money. In Hezekiah’s story, it meant leveraging a tiny amount of favor in the community into a strategy that produced the favor of heaven. Our Kingdom work plays out on heaven and earth sequentially, and we need to be able to see heaven’s side of the picture every time we see scarce resources here on earth.
08. Hybrid: Value Added vs. Redistribution
Mercy ministries are, essentially a form of communism. While the American church professes to disdain the political/economic model of communism, it redistributed a third of a trillion dollars last year in classic need-based manner. A hybrid business has as its core engine a value added proposition that makes possible transformation of a different nature.
07. Design: Fulfillment vs. Futility
Many people struggle to know their design. One of the methods for identifying the “Scrabble letters” that compose your design is to follow the trail of what brings you fulfillment in the ordinary stuff of life. I personally hate using a dishwasher. I always wash my dished by hand and enjoy it immensely. That is a clue. This episode helps you decode the reality of your daily life.
06. Transformation: Design vs. Need
You will probably never get caught up in life. And this can keep you from pursuing your design. On the other hand, most of the great inventors in history were legendary for abandoning the normal duties of life. Neither extreme is ideal. This episode explores a strategic reconfiguring of your lifestyle so that you can be transformational in the area of your design.
05. Elders: Definition of an Elder vs. a Father
The term elder is not used in the secular community here in the West, yet it is an important term. Some people are fathers and some are elders. This clip is designed to help fathers relate properly to elders. Elders do not rule over fathers, but are vital to the well-being of fathers. The ambiguity around the term elder leads to many unhealthy social contracts being projected onto them by well-meaning but misinformed fathers.
04. Fathering: The Bartender Syndrome
A bartender is a specialist in legitimizing powerlessness. People come in with their sad story, and it is not his job to fix their problems. He agrees that they are in a tough spot and serves them some pain relief. This is NOT what a father does. It is an art form to have vast compassion for the pain of a person, while never coming into agreement with their perspective about powerlessness.
03. Kingdom: Church/Kingdom Sequence
One cannot leave THE CHURCH, which is the Body of Christ, but many people have moved from the institutional church into a vaguely defined role in the Kingdom. While the departure was less than lovely for many, it is vital to understand the sequence and what resources God placed in you, while you were in the institutional church, before exploring “life after church.”
02. Hybrid: Definition of Hybrid Business
The relationship between churches and the marketplace has morphed many times in the last 2,000 years. It is undergoing another massive change now, as for profit businesses are taking over one section of the duties of the church. This episode gives a historical picture of the cadence, then describes the current shift.
The Church in the Western world is in a state of change. God is moving people from the institutional church into other configurations. THE Church is still central in God’s plan, but the expression of the church is changing. This episode gives an overview to what we will be exploring in this episode series.
54. Fathering: Crises
When crises hit, many well-meaning people move into mothering mode, helping resolve the crisis. A fathering kind of leader knows how to leverage the crisis so as to unpack the inner treasures of the person.

The most underused tool in our growth in power is immersion in the Word. Here are some models for how we can achieve spiritual power in a given area through the Word.

57. Intimacy: In Ministry
Intimacy is the treasure of community. It is also a trap for many. Here are some tools for creating intimacy where needed and for dialing it back at the appropriate times.
58. Harvest: Freedom
Freedom is not the same as liberty. Many people have achieved liberty, but not so many have found freedom. One of the greatest harvests in a community is freedom. But what seed do you need to sow?
